Who Are we?

S.P.E.A.C.E. is led by a dedicated and passionate team of young individuals from Veria, Greece, brought together by a shared vision: to harness the power of sports as a catalyst for peace, inclusion, and community empowerment. Our team members come from diverse professional and academic backgrounds—including sports, youth work, education, communication, and cultural mediation—each contributing unique skills, experiences, and perspectives to the project. Together, we are committed to transforming sports into a platform for dialogue, growth, and solidarity.

Behind our initiative stands a vital partner: Youth Estia, the applicant and supporting organization of the S.P.E.A.C.E. project.

Youth Estia is a vibrant grassroots group based in Veria, Greece, composed of young people deeply committed to social change and community well-being. Formed in response to the alarming rise in violence associated with sports, Youth Estia promotes peacebuilding, inclusion, and personal development through innovative, community-driven actions. The organization leverages sports—particularly basketball—as a powerful tool for conflict resolution, intercultural understanding, and youth empowerment.

With a team experienced in areas such as communication, public health, youth advocacy, and cultural sensitivity, Youth Estia plays a central role in cultivating active citizenship and fostering a culture of solidarity. Aligned with the values of the European Solidarity Corps, the organization not only supports the implementation of S.P.E.A.C.E., but also helps amplify its impact across communities and generations.
